Varicose Vein Treatment

Varicose Vein Treatment

Varicose veins are chronic and recurrent conditions. The variety of treatments available does not offer a cure, but rather a control of the condition. Successfully treated veins cannot come back. However, your inborn tendency to develop new veins will not be cured by this or any other form of treatment. Our team treats venous insufficiency completely, removing all backward-flowing veins, making your treatment for varicose veins as thorough as possible.

Uterine Fibroid Embolization

Uterine Fibroid Embolization

Have you been diagnosed with uterine fibroids? Don’t worry. They are extremely common and treatable. Uterine fibroids are benign tumors that develop within the muscular wall of the uterus. If you have uterine fibroids and are symptomatic, you have a choice in your treatment options. Our team offers uterine fibroid embolization (UFE)—a proven, effective alternative to surgery to treat uterine fibroids, with less risk, less pain and less recovery time.

Peripheral Artery Disease

Peripheral Artery Disease

This buildup—called plaque—narrows your arteries, often reducing or blocking the flow of blood. Peripheral artery disease (PAD) is most commonly seen in the legs, but also can be present in the arteries that carry blood from your heart to your head, arms, kidneys and stomach. Nearly everyone who has PAD, even those who do not have leg symptoms, suffer from an inability to walk as fast or as far as they could before PAD. In all, PAD affects 8 to 12 million people in the United States, especially those that are 50 and older. If you are diagnosed with PAD, the sooner you are treated, the lower your risk of the disease progressing. Talk to our team about minimally invasive treatment options.

Procedures Include:

Varicocele Embolization

Varicocele Embolization

A varicocele is a varicose vein of the testicle and scrotum that may cause pain, testicular atrophy (shrinkage) or fertility problems. Veins contain one-way valves that work to allow blood to flow from the testicles and scrotum back to the heart. When these valves fail, the blood pools and enlarges the veins around the testicle in the scrotum to cause a varicocele. As a treatment, urologists often suggest open surgical ligation, but Augusta Vascular Center can offer varicocele embolization, which is as effective as surgery with less risk, less pain and less recovery time.
