David R. Hertzog, MD, FACS is a general surgeon and interventional radiologist with more than 30 years extensive experience providing exceptional patient care. He specializes in dialysis access management for ESRD patients and the minimally invasive procedures which maintain proper function and reduce potential disruptions of scheduled dialysis treatments. Dr. Hertzog treats patients at Azura Vascular Care South Philadelphia.
Dr. Hertzog earned his medical degree from the Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, where he also completed his surgical residency. He worked as an attending general surgeon for nearly 20 years and then completed a fellowship in interventional radiology from Milton S. Hershey Medical Center in Hershey, PA.
In addition to academic appointments as Clinical Assistant Professor of Surgery and Clinical Assistant Professor of Radiology, Dr. Hertzog has served on many professional and scientific committees within the Capital Health System Medical Center, RWJ-University Hospital at Hamilton and St. Francis Medical Center. His work also includes several peer reviewed publications in the Journal of Vascular and Interventional Radiology, among others.
Dr. Hertzog is a member of the American Medical Association, Vascular Access Society of the Americas, Society of Interventional Radiology, and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is board certified in general surgery.
