Gregg A. Miller, MD, is an interventional nephrologist specializing in the critical maintenance, management and treatment of dialysis accesses. Dr. Miller practices at American Access Care Physician, PLLC Brooklyn in Brooklyn, New York.
As Senior Vice President of Operations, Dr. Gregg Miller leads all clinic operations and business integration for Azura Vascular Care. In this role, he works closely with both patient-facing and support teams throughout the organization to ensure that all systems, processes and procedures are strategically aligned to enhance the total patient experience. Prior to this position, he served as the Chief Medical Officer for Fresenius Vascular Care, and the Vice President of Operations.
Dr. Miller earned his undergraduate degree in biomedical sciences from the Sophie Davis School of Biomedical Education at the City University of New York, and he received his medical degree from SUNY Health Science Center at Syracuse. He specializes in Internal Medicine, Nephrology and Critical Care Medicine, with additional qualifications in Interventional Nephrology.
Dr. Miller launched his medical career focusing on cardiothoracic critical care medicine, and he developed the first outpatient vascular access center in the state of New York in 2002. As a practicing physician, researcher, and trainer, he fundamentally transformed the way dialysis patients receive care for their vascular access. In 2006, he developed the MILLER (Minimally Invasive Limited Ligation Endoluminal-assisted Revision) Procedure, a technique which revolutionized the treatment of Dialysis Associated Steal Syndrome (DASS). Author of more than nine articles in specialty publications, he has lectured nationally and internationally.
In his current role, Dr. Miller is focused on cultivating and maintaining a culture of clinical excellence through compliance and patient safety. He created and implemented the High-Risk Criteria, a best practices initiative which enables providers to quickly identify patients at greater risk for complications. He was also instrumental in creating a Renal-Focused ASC, where physicians of multiple specialties coordinate vascular access creation, revision, and interventions for patients receiving dialysis treatments. To deliver on this expanded portfolio and further enhance the continuum of care, Dr. Miller helped establish Azura Anesthesia Partners, incorporating the delivery of care by anesthesia providers who specialize in managing renally impaired patients.
Dr. Miller is board certified in internal medicine, critical care medicine and nephrology with an additional certificate in interventional nephrology.
