Dr. Sohaib Zahid is an Interventional Nephrologist specializing in advanced dialysis access management and minimally invasive, image-guided endovascular procedures for patients with end-stage renal disease.
He performs a comprehensive range of vascular access interventions, including fistulograms, angioplasty of AV fistulas and grafts, thrombectomy, stent placement, tunneled dialysis catheter placement and exchange, percutaneous AV fistula creation, banding and flow reduction procedures, ligation for steal syndrome, coil embolization, and peritoneal dialysis catheter placement.
His focus is on maximizing access longevity, reducing catheter dependence, and preventing avoidable hospitalizations through timely, office-based intervention and proactive surveillance.
Dr. Zahid provides interventional services at STAR Vascular Access Center and serves as Medical Director at Fresenius Jourdanton Dialysis Clinic, where he leads vascular access strategy, quality improvement initiatives, and dialysis performance optimization.
In addition, he maintains an active outpatient nephrology practice and provides inpatient consultations within the Methodist and Baptist hospital systems in San Antonio.
